Shower base
« on: August 08, 2015, 06:59:52 PM »
One of the things that swmbo doesn't like is the shower tent floor. So today I set to and attacked a $20 gumtree plastic pallet with the demo saw, then added an expanded foam pvc deck to it ($55 at Bunnings) now we have a solid flat floor that all the water will run off of, and support the dunny when we aren't using our thunder box and a hole in the ground, one tent for showers and number twos

Hi,
We use one of the deep rubber footmats out of the Defender.
Gives the feet a good soak too.
Cheers

Here's the pallet prior to the demo saw, cut the feet off and cut to size of the tent, I'll do some more pics tomorrow

Mrs Renno was the same, We use the en suit as a  toilet and shower. we didn't like using the bathroom after using the shower as the floor pooled water and was cold later on in the night. I had a couple of Cedar Bath mats made to fit by Ceder Magic in Byron. Mats are great and the Cedar dries really quickly. Work really well and store in a space under the bed. They are actually really comfortable and not slippery when wet. Has been great in winter not standing on a squishy cold mat..
Love the smell of them every time I open the camper..

More pics

I like the cedar idea above too, mine fits in the basket on the roof of the FJ but hangs out a bit, small price to pay I think, with all the stuff I cut off it weighs about 10-15 kg. those cedar ones would be ultra light
