Swag Storage?
« on: June 27, 2015, 12:52:31 PM »
G'day All,
After tenting and camper trailering (is that a real word?) for ever, I have just bought a couple of swags for me and the boy. I have them seasoned, did a test sleep in them and now they're rolled them up ready for a boys trip next week. I always thought you would leave them rolled up when stored away but the instruction sheet (I do read them these days!) says to store them unrolled. What's the experience of more experienced swaggers?

Thanks,
Mark.

Depends if it has a self inflating or a foam mattress.  Self inflatering mattresses are supposed to be stored flat.

I have removed the 7 cm mattress from my Oztrail Mitchell double swag and stored it under one of my beds. I did this primarily as the swag with mattress is quite large and my garage is chockers with car, camper trailer, kayak, fishing tackle, cupboards , essential tools/toys etc. Without the mattress, the swag canvas folds up small and is much more flexible making storage easier. Just need to remember the mattress when going camping.....

Thanks heaps gents, rolled up they will be! I've stuck my old thermarest in there too as the standard mattress was pretty basic and I've always rolled the thermarest up. I have heaps of space in the shed so size isn't an issue.

Cheers,

Mark.
