So what are people using to replace the old school sensor floodlights

I still have these globe ones and the sensor thing Shits me blind, turning off at the most shyte times



I wanna get some good quality set and forget LED Floods with sensor - but there are some that you can apparently flick the switch twice and they just stay on... perfect for working on car... unlike last ****ing nights effort.. I nearly jumped up and Jackie Chan'ed the ****s off the shed wall...

What brands are good?? Mate works for Middys said forget theirs as they are too expensive

Ebay has 230984230948230984023948023948023948 different from 99cents up to zillions of $$$

The style in your picture, most of those will stay on if you turn on, turn off and turn on again within a certain time, I think 1 minute. PITA where I live as we often have brief blackouts leaving the floods on all day.

yea, I've tried that on/off/on in about 200 different things on/off 2 times 3 times 4 times etc - doesn't make Shit difference

They are only 3-4 weeks usually overnight and last less than a minute, until the substation resets (or something like that). Then I have to reset the microwave and oven clocks.

We get them also, seems more often now with smart meter...

The house watch brand of sensor lights are quite good and good price.  They have the ability to stay on by turning on then off then on again within 10 secs all up.  To get it back to sensor, turn switch off for 10secs and back on.  Most sensor lights will operate like that. 
As for led par 38 globes they can be bought at most electrical wholesalers, lighting shops or even bunnings.  They will just fit straight in. 
If you don't want the sensor then the house watch ones do come just as a flood light setup with no sensor.  House watch can be bought at most electrical wholesalers or lighting shops.
I do not recommend buying off ebay. A lot of 240V stuff on ebay may not meet aus standards.  Just don't trust them.

We put some of the el cheapos on our shed like the ones in your photo, lasted a couple of years, would come on, stay on, wouldn't go off etc.  Sparky warned me I was wasting my money and reminded me with the good old 'I told you so' when we replaced them with these

Have lasted a year or so now without skipping a beat.  Definitely bright enough.

Not the best IP rating at IP44 however the IP67 and the like were triple the cost if not more.
