Keeping up with the.... road regs?
« on: June 22, 2015, 08:56:44 AM »
My fellow swaggers.

Not looking for a debate on road rules/regs interpretation here. But I'm wondering if anyone has a trick to keeping up with road rule changes? Is there a email list you can join to get updates emailed to you? Or is the only option to regularly check the relevant government web sites?

Reason for the question, my work had spec'd a fleet of MR trucks with air bag suspension because in Victoria this would allow 10t on a single axle. With the introduction of the NHVR it has reduced back to 9t and no one at work including myself knew that it had changed. As I mentioned, not interested in a debate over the laws, just interested in knowing if anyone has an easy way of keeping up with these changes other than doing random searches.

On the News and Events page at the NHVR site there's an option to subscribe to e-mails for updates about policy/legislation etc.  I use the site regularly for work but it's hard to keep up with changes.  I haven't tried the subscribe option so I don't know how helpful it it would be.

Thanks for that info. I've just signed up, so lets see how much spam I get now.

If you looking for Vic legislation particularly there isn't an email alert service however they do state that you can get one for a fee from SAI Global. They do publish a weekly update but this would require you to go in and search though. link here http://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/
