Educated opinions please
« on: January 29, 2015, 07:30:45 PM »
G'day All

We have previously had a Tru Blu camper which we travelled the Stezlecki Track, Dig tree
Silverton and several other smaller adventures, My better half has a back injury and because
of this we sold it and purchased a caravan, couple of years down the track and we found we couldn't go to the places we enjoyed. :-[
Cut a long story short we are now back in the market for a Camper  ;D
We have 2 girls 7 and 9
 Our requirements
Must be walk up
Must be able to set up relatively quickly for an overnight camp
Open to soft and hard floor
Our budget is around $25000
Our very short list so far is a Complete Campsite Uluru

Suggestions please!!!!

Craig

If you are set on getting a CC make sure you get the smaller tent. We had the bigger tent on ours and it was just too much for us, I also have a bad back and just couldn't handle all that canvas.
Other than than you also need a bigger 4wd to tow a CC as they are very heavy, but an awesome bit of gear...... We loved ours but it just didn't suit us any more.

We now have a kimberley kamper, and after completing our first trip last weekend found it to be much easier to handle. My wife can pit it up and down on her own if needed.  :cup:
You just need to realise that with a hard floor there will be less room with the kids and less storage.

As the others have said, there is some great campers around your price range available second hand at the moment.
Good luck with your search.

What about a second hand Tvan?

Gets away from too much canvas to deal with a bad back.

Thanks Matt/homer jay
I totally agree with your comments re the large tent, we had the large version on our Tru Blu
And it was a pain in the a$$e to set up, hence why a requirement for our new camper to be
easy overnight setup.
I have looked at the T van a while ago at camping shows and unless they have changed recently
they didn't look like there was much room for kids but I guess that's one of the compromises with hard floor
Any thoughts on Camprite?

Sorry mate, I missed the kids bit!  ;D
Yeah would need more room than a tvan unless you took a tent also I guess. But that gets back to more setup.

Everything is a compromise and nothing will ever be perfect.
