Has anyone had auto problems with a D40 went 4WD ing and then wouldn't hold back in gears

yep, known problem with the 7spd auto's. Several threads about this over on the Navara Forum. Hasn't stopped me going off road so far. I've just learnt to drive a little differently on the steep declines.

It has to do with the Pathfinder set up with the same V6 TD engine/gearbox combo. Tipping the salesman didn't tell you?
In the Pathfinder it comes with Hill Descent control.

Next door neighbour has a D40 auto.

I think it cost him around $7000 when it last crapped itself  :'(

injectors on the 4cyl or 6cyl?

The gearbox itself packed it in.
