Bob Jane no longer selling Maxxis Tyres
« on: December 24, 2014, 08:34:57 AM »
Went to get a couple to replace the rears on the Paj here in Melb (stuffed due to a poor wheel alignment in Brizvegas) only to find they are no longer carrying this brand. Local store has no idea why. Tried to sell me another brand but I only want 2.

Tyrepower still has them..
Cheers, John.

Bob Jane were bringing the tyres in quite a few years ago before they were a well known product.  I believe this was independant to the Australian distributor, TyreMax.  TyreMax then started selling the tyres to everyone when they had a more well known reputation.  Pretty much any tyre service can buy/sell the tyres now, however I think TyreMax would be hesitant to sell to Bob Jane given the past.

you will find any tyre dealer will be able to get them, as I went to a local shop the other day and asked if they stock them they said no but they can get them in as with any other tyre shop but their price was over the top as they tend to jack the price up a bit to turn you off and maybe purchase something off their shelf

BJ were exclusively selling the AT771 in LT. The AT700 which everyone else sells is not an LT.   >:(
Cheers, John.

700 do come in LT, not all sizes though just like the 771. The tread pattern is slightly different between the two from memory.

I bought this one about 3 months ago.

Exclusive Brethren I think.   But we all have to earn a buck.

4 suppliers I deal with at work are Exclusive Brethren.  Besides their fortress like factories and everyone talks the same, they're the best at customer service and on time deliveries.

They were very quirky to deal with years ago when they refused to embrace technology.
