« on: October 09, 2014, 08:19:18 PM »
Hi all, we have just picked up our new kk platnium and would love to look at a tag along tour next year - maybe to the nt or far north qld (we r in townsville),
Has anyone done one with their camper trailers? Any recomendations?
Much appreciated, cheers

As you have the trailer and your gear, why not check out the trips section and see what trips you could tag along on with other swaggers?, sort of the same as tag along with out paying to follow someone?

Well done on the KK. Nice unit

Which state are you in  ???  Find a camp spot that could handle 10 to 20 CTs  post up when your planning to be there , build a fire & watch Um come . Swaggers will travel huge distances to be with like minded

Tag-a-longs can be a good place to go if your starting out and don't have time to research an area. But they can be very expensive for just following someone around..

Personally between now and when your leaving next year, do as many weekends/weeks away as you can and you wont need a tag-a-long

and as said, theres usually a Swag trip heading that way - McGirr on this board is one of the most experienced dudes on that region we have - if I was heading that way, I'd beg him to allow me (You'd be ok, theres been many new comers on his excursions) to come along. That way you can do it without paying for someone to show you around

Tags longs are good but very costly.

It depends on what experience you have had towing a camper and also what experience doing 4wd trips. Trips to the Cape can be as easy or as hard as you want.

The trips I take people on are with other experienced members who are there to assist people if needed plus they are great people to travel with and are always happy to drink your beer.  ;D

When planning a trip I take into consideration places people want to see and also enough time to enjoy it. Have a look at some of the trips and read the reports that will give you an idea of the fun we have.

The trip we did to the Cape this year will be in 4wd touring Australia magazine in the coming months.

Feel free to send me a pm or call 0407287620 to have a chat. Always happy to assist in planning a trip.

Hi Rochelle.    We have seen the Swaggers in action with them arriving at Kings Creek Station en masse earlier this year.... After meeting them and seeing them in action with their assistance and consideration for each other Personally I would choose to do some trips with the people from this group.   We did a tag a long tour a couple of years ago, thought we had chosen wisely with the people we went with but in the end were quite disappointed with the whole experience.... We chose a Tag a long because of the remoteness of the area we wanted to visit but it was certainly not an empowering experience. I'm sure the inexperience of many made the guide feel good about himself as he big noted on many occasions!    Swaggers will not only help but will teach you - so next time something occurs you will have a better chance of handling it yourself!

Go the swaggers!
Cheers,
