Cape York Trip Pictures
« on: July 24, 2014, 08:20:45 PM »
Will upload some videos of the creek Crossings, but it went like this

Left Lions Den and had Breakfast in Cookstown, then into Lakefield NP via Battle Camp Road and the Normanby River Crossing

Normanby River

We got to the White and Red Lilly Lagoons and got a picture of some of the locals

Then setup camp for the night

after much foraging (in the freezer) we found some bush tucker that was suitable for our simple Pommie palates and taste

The next morning arose early to get some pictures at Hann crossing of the North Kennedy River

and then left for Bramwell Station via Lakefield Road for the night

to be continued

After a night at Bramwell we headed to Elliot Falls camping area

about to put the tow/toe in the water after leaving the SB Bypass

After 3 1/2 hours on the road we went for a swim at the Saucepan and then twin falls

The next morning we headed off to Punsand Bay via the OTT as far as mistake Creek, did a few crossings on the way, Canal, Sam, Mistake,
then avoided the Nolans/Jardine altogether

eventually at 2 ish we arrived at Punsand Bay.. Sunsets were just spectacular

The next day we headed to the tip, the Rangie sunbathing

I only have 670 photo's and vids, so will post more later

Great pics and video. They bring back lots of wonderful memories.

The Cape doesn't seem to have changed at all, which I suppose is a good thing.

Nice to see a bit of colour on the Rangie in the photo up at the Tip, and I got a laugh out of the Indian take away :cup:

Hope all goes well for take two of the trip
