Proper Introduction
« on: May 22, 2014, 05:23:04 PM »
Hi all,
I've posted a few questions before but never formally said hello!
The husband is a member on here and suggested I join as we are heading out on our 3 month Australian journey very soon!
We are pretty much skipping Qld and heading straight to Alice Springs along The Plenty, from there north to Darwin, around to Broome (exploring all the place in between of course), flitting fairly quickly down to Perth, exploring down there and heading home (probably pretty rapidly as we have to return to work in October.) We have lots of "must sees and must dos" on out list and even more on a wish list, we'll have to see how the time pans out!
We leave in 5 weeks (and hasn't that crept up quick!) so we're slowly getting organised, thanks to some great advice on this site!
5 more weeks and we're off! (dragging our two 12 year old twins with us!)
Cheers!

Welcome, but why would you skip the best State in Australia....

Skip Queensland? Because we live here!! In gorgeous old Hervey Bay - gateway to Fraser Island!  ;D A lot we have already explored and a trip to the cape is definitely on the cards - but we won't need a big Long Service leave trip for that! So it's on the "future trip" itinerary!
And yes I totally agree - best state in Australia - why would people live elsewhere!!!!

Welcome Lesa4969,

It is a beautiful state here, especially where you are.

That sounds like a great trip, my wife and I will be doing something similar in a few years.

Don't travel to far, to quick, enjoy the drive as well as the destination.

We'll be on the Plenty in early August so we probably won't see you!
