Mouldy canvas

Gday  swaggers been a while since I have posted anything on  the site, but always browsing.I have a slight problem with  MOULD !!! have been working at Kooljaman  cape Leveque  for last 16 months great place good times!!! But camper trailer has been packed up for 8 months  over the WET  unpacked today  ,planning to use on our 2days off to do overnighers  to middle lagoon, whale song etc.  found it slightly mouldy in one or two spots smells mouldy looks mouldy so i guess it's mould  so what. Do I do to get rid of it without  ruining the canvas ( waterproofing) any help much appreciated cheers Bob whale

How long before you go?
Can you put the tent up, in the back yard maybe?
Can you still get at the mould with the tent up?
Is the mould inside or outside of the canvas?
Just airing out the tent in warm to good strong sunlight will help heaps.
Anti mould products are usually a Chlorine bleach mixed with a small amount of other ingredients.
The bleach doesn't help the canvas.  Bleach kills the mould though.

Never use chlorine or bleach, just look what it does to your clothes, white blotches. Also never scrub the area. Glen 20, or 20% vinegar to 80% water in a litre bottle of water and 1/4 teaspoon of oil of cloves to 1 litre of water. Regularly air out camper over winter. cheers Ron.

I had a few spots of mould on our canvas, I sprayed with straight vinegar and left out to dry in the sun, then brushed off with a soft brush.  Seems to have worked, no more mould :)
