La-Z-Boy Furniture
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:45:51 AM »
Hi

Wondering if anyone else has owned La-Z-Boy furniture and what their thoughts are? Specifically the stuff you buy in Australia which i understand is not exactly the same as the USA, but very similar.

Looking at a straight 4-seat modular lounge.

Goose.

From what I see and hear it is pretty good quality stuff. If there is anything specific you want to know I can get a few answers for you. My sister inlaw is a manager for them down here in Vic

I have had a leather rocker recliner for 11 years and it is still almost like new. My eldest is 10 so it has seen its fair share of abuse.

We have a leather suite with 2 recliners. Leather has stood up to teenagers very well over 2 years. The mechanisms are less robust than I expected. The arms that support the extendable footrests are only 3mm mild steel and will bend if the footrest is sat on. Perhaps not part of the design spec but you don't want to become the "furniture police" if it's to be in the family room. Easily straightened though.

Ours is made in Thailand.

Just purchased a 3 seater, 2 seater and recliner in chocolate leather.

We checked out a fair few different brands and LaZboy looked like the pick of the bunch .
Life time warranty on the carcasses to me at least tells you they are backing the quality of there product.

Time will tell.

I have a lounge and two recliners which are about five years old now and they are the duck guts! I did have an issue with some flaking on the surface of the leather on the recliners but they were replaced (Hardly Normal).

My parents have had a couple of recliners for many years now and they are still in great condition especially now that dad spends most of he day sitting in it.

Previously had cheaper lounges but they didn't last. Definitely one of those things that are worth the extra dollars.

We bought 2 leather ones a few years ago. Awesome, so easy to keep clean, I wipe them down with a damp clothe every where and use their furniture protection stuff every few months and they still look like new. :)

My mum has one at her place...was my grandfathers. She fed me in it when I was a baby. She was crying watching me feed our third baby in it a couple of months ago. Reckon it's at least 40 years old.

I'm a bit of a sentimentalist too. Glad it's not just me ;)
