Hello from Ballarat District
« on: April 02, 2014, 11:15:00 AM »
Hello Myswaggers,

Time for an introduction, we are a 'mature' aged couple (not yet grey nomads) from the Ballarat area.
Own an older model Jayco outback that we tow around with the mighty Nissan Patrol - 2012 Simpson Edition. (Don't start the Toymota v Pootrol argument - I get enough of this from my grandkids )
Yeap, I know this thread is worthless without pics - on the work pc so they will have to wait.

Mods (that I can remember) so far include:
NISSAN                                     JAYCO
2" lift                                          Lot's of electrics
Kony shocks                               Battery
Under body protection               Checker plate stone guard
Safari snorkel                             Toolbox
Dual Battery                               17" wheels to match Patrol
Recovery points                          Treg Hitch
Cargo Barrier                              Extra water tank
UHF                                             Shower
KM2's                                          Setup for off-road use
Lot's of electrics

Biggest trip to date was a 13,000km sojourn to the Cape in July/August/September last year.  Over eight weeks on the road and the Patrol and van preformed flawlessly, not even a puncture.  Yeap we took the chicken track with the van, but not many.

OK that's it for now, looking forward to being part of the community.

Welcome to myswag Apollofish.  Great to have you on board and look forward to more stories and tales of your travels (with pics:-))

So you drive a Nissan?  Nothing wrong with that.  It's the Toyota drivers I really worry about:-)

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like a great set up you have.

By the way, Ballarat is our favourite town and a place where we would want to live if ever we had a sea change!!
