G'day from the Watagans
« on: February 20, 2014, 05:38:22 PM »
Hey all,

My names Ross im 19 and from pretty much right under the watagans in the hunter valley. I drive a 2010 79 cruiser which ive taken to a few places including Barringtons a few times, corner country and currently have a trip planned to cross the simpson in April. Shes managed to rack up 27,000kms in 6 months  ???  I don't have camper trailer as ive built a jackoff jack up canopy to suit my needs but ive come on here to hopefully find a few trailer designs and ideas. The plan is to turn my old alloy tray into a offroad trailer capable of taking the quad, motorbike and boat. Also meet afew new people and share any knowledge that might be valuable

Cheers Ross

Welcome to the tribe.  Maybe a roof top tent on a rack over the top of the boat/quad might be a solution.

Happy camping

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas  :D Ill be doing some searching over the next couple days on chassis designs.

On the roof top tent, in the canopy i sunk a platform 150mm from the roof. I have 4 pneumatic actuators to cut down and hose up in each corner. Once hosed up these will provide 870mm of lift, this will be my sleeping area. Will pull up vinyl and fly screen walls to protect from wheather. So sleep up top and have draws, fridge slides, kitchen and shower setup down the bottom
