Bitten By A Spyder
« on: November 15, 2013, 04:44:08 PM »
Been riding for over 40yrs and this time round after looking at a multitude of two wheelers  decided to go for something slightly different not everyone's cup a tea but when you get a little older comfort and vehicle stability won me over.
The wife and i both love the freedom and wind in the face and this will suit us very well.

Just a few specs for those interested

Can Am Spyder 5ES
Rotax 998 V Twin
5 Speed Semi Auto Paddle Shift with Reverse
Belt Drive
Bosch 3 Wheel Braking System (only foot brake no hand lever)
ABS
Traction Control
VSS (vehicle stability system)
Brembo Brakes with Cross Drilled Rotors
Cruise Control
15 inch wheels with low profiles
Fox Podium adjustable front shocks
Dynamic Tuned Y Chassis
Full Colour Digital Display with multable readouts

Fuel consumption NOT GOOD 8 ltrs per 100ks oh well price you pay.
44 ltrs of front storage
And much more.

Now the wait.  We choose the Neutron Green

I've seen a copper-coloured one here around Bendigo a few times this week - looks mean :)
We've swapped from the camper to a van yay! :)

Funny you ask that not in the true sense but while in Tassie this year there was one who was towing a trailer and camped all the way round Tassie for 5 weeks.

We have a 2012 RT-S SE5 run out model.. Picked it up in Melbourne end of September. Rode it home to Alice. Love it! Still standard as far as the handling, will fit a stiffer sway bar soon. Will flatten out the small amount of body lean. Had a K1200LT with Wedgetail Outrider that was a real handful on twisties. Yes it will tow a camper. Also have an Elite Motorcycle camper that will be going to Tassie behind the Spyder in 2016 for Ulysses AGM. Should be a great trip.

Not real sure on the back to front trikes, Always wanted to have a road legal quad but going by the RTA mob " Not allowed " ..
Well in this country... See the Kiwi's can do basicaly what they want over there .
ATV Subaru Impreza STI Small | Large

And if you were to want a quad, this one would pretty much be it .

Good to see someone else owns one ,would have been a nice ride back to Alice on the RT.Sounds interesting the AGM in 2016 in Tassie. These Spyders are becoming popular sell pretty quick in dealers. The last AGM for the Ulysses in Maryborough QLD they had 7 demos all sold by the end of the meet.

So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.
