Suzuki fan with Podtrailer
« on: October 16, 2011, 10:01:36 PM »
Gday, thought i'd join the site with the mostest campers/trailers.
I'm a suzuki fan, had a Jimny, sierra, vitara and recently got a grand vitara which i'm setting up as more a tourer.
I have a podtrailer which i bought back in 2009, it is ideal for towing behind smaller vehicles like the suzuki's.
Although mine is for throwing the camping gear in it rather than a camper when i'm not using it for work.

Your've put yourself out there now, so you now required to put up the pics.

Suzuki sierra is a good 4x4 and quite agile, like a 4x4 quad bike on steroids. Matching one up with a lightweight Pod trailer makes a lot of great sense.

What kind of camping gear do you use. Oztent or Blackwolf Turbo tent by any chance?

Thanks guys.

The old sierra on the nullabor, towed the pod all the way from south of adelaide across to Walpole in south west W.A

The tent i have is just a kookaburra dome, i like t to swag it alot. But more trips with the partner have got me thinking about a rooftop tent.

Stockman now have a POD - top tent available - Theres a bit of metal work to fit to the POD but the tent looks quite good .. I used to have the POD with camper fitted - Just sold it a few days ago ..
Ring or email Phil and see if they are still running the POD top tent - It was about 4 months ago when I saw it ..Pretty sure it was a South African brand ?

Thought i should update this, has been a while.

I have mounted my old trusty bushranger compressor under the bonnet.

I fitted some extractors a little while back, and just added a highflow muffler to that and am very happy with the outcome.

I entered a competition that i heard on the local radio in conjunction with the 4wd and camping show, and won an Engel fridge
So i had to pick it up at the show and whilst there grabbed a transit bag and a fridge slide.
Its alot bigger than one i wouldve bought before a trip north next year, so thats a bonus!

I just finished mounting my second battery which is a tight squeeze in the gv, and ran a dual plug up the rear for fridge and accessories.

I also have new front springs, 80kg constant load for a front bar i have coming and the winch i have sitting here.

No need to live OS.
There's been a few GV's built similar to the one shown here. Diff lock's, 33's, rockhopper gears etc.
I also know of another Vit with live axle conversion.
All of which are engineered & registered in NSW

Gday mate.

We have the same model GV as the brides vehicle but at present the kids have stolen it.  Was looking for a bull bar for it, what brand or where did you get yours from?
Cheers

Needs some mods, like electrics-that's about it.
Great for the 2 of us.
Check out photos on intro a month ago.
