The fridge has arrived. Put some meat and a couple of bottles of water in, set it to-10C...........................................................................and this morning everything is rock solid. My initial impressions are that this is a well made, well designed sturdy unit. Build quality leaves the Waeco we had, for dead.
Exceptionally pleased  (particularly when the "extras" are included) with the purchase. $399.20 delivered to my door.

How old was your Waeco? I find the build quality of our Waeco excellent. Hasn't missed a beat in a couple of years running non-stop and sturdy as the proverbial. Much more energy efficient compared to the chinese/Evacool unit we have that I mentioned earlier in this thread. The Waeco uses much less power to achieve the same cooling times and temps I have found.
Cheers.

18 months old. Disliked the lid on the thing immensely and found the slider arrangement for temp setting and control poor. It did not have a basket or interior light or temperature gauge and cost $150 more.

Fair enough. Mine has the digital set gauge and basket with light. I can see how you would not favour that one you had. Its those extras that make life with a fridge so much better. Enjoy the new one mate it should give years of dedicated service. Excellent price too by the way.
