It's only $210M.  That won't go far at all.  So as TOPNDR said there is nothing to worry about there is no freeway, the road might be a little better than it is now that's it. Don't panic.

lts really sad the damage done to date   but its worse what they do on the way down .
Can we talk about an escolater to Kosciuszko sumit
 a lift inside Uluru
a silt filter to clean the Yarra
muzzels for sharks at Bondi
it just goes on into stupidiyt & we are going to just cough up the cash

I reckon you're all banging yer gums about nothing!

The press release mentions nothing about a freeway, and does mention upgrading two roads to all-weather status, as well as a bridge over the Jardine.

I'll bet we'd all be p!ssed off if we had to get locked in our home town on a regular basis because the road went out, and the road couldn't be upgraded because some interest group wanted it left that way for their occasional use.
