Jimboomba Explorer Camper Experiences

Looking at buying a Jimboomba explorer camper was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with these campers or have any information about them they look really good but want to be sure as with the options it is going to be between 25 to 29k.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

From everything I have heard they are a very well built camper.
I know the business suffered a set back with the prior owners, but from what I can gather the original owner is back involved.
That can only mean that the quality will still be evident, if not better.
Would I buy a jimbo camper?
If it fit my requirements then yes without a doubt.
They really are a solid unit.
Dont forget though in the price range you are looking at, you as the buyer have the advantage.
There are plenty of companies producing high quality campers. Trackabout, follow me campers, vacation campers to name a few.

See which one fits Your requirements best.
As long as you have researched I dont think you can go wrong.

I really like the walk through style have had a look at a few with that setup but haven't seen anything that sets them apart from the Jimboomba there kitchen set up looked a little bit cheap.

Thats fair enough. My personal favourite is the trackabout walk up with a drifta kitchen in the new black/stainless look.
A very tough camper.
From my understanding, arent the jimbo's alloy trailers?
Certainly not many people/companies doing quality ones in aluminium. Again mate as long as you have shopped around, camping shows etc etc and you are happy with your choice, then I dont think you can go wrong.

And I have no idea if he was in 4wd action, lol I stopped watching the dvds when the adds were longer than the videos haha.

Yep that would be the one. Very nice work. 
I dont think he would notice if I borrowed it for a holiday before he collected it? 
She's doing great, averaging around 70mls a feed.
Are jimbooomba still making the excalabar step up? That was an impressive trailer too.

Hi We have a jimbomba explorer the base price was $15000 ,ours cost us a extra $11000  very happy with the CT  ,got our's in 2011 that's when sue & terry where running the show. The quality is very good .We looked around at different CT'S for 18 months be for making our choice. It came down to two make's Lifestyle campers or Jimboomba campers, for what we wanted and how we wanted it.  VERY, VERY happy with our choice .Cheers Rob

Thanks Bushbandit but really want to buy new as want to set it up the way we want it from scratch no doubt we won't get it exactly right.

Rob the base price for the explorer is 18k now 3k difference fair jump over two years. Are they well sealed it all looked good just wondering what they were like after a few trips over a bit of rough.

As our base is Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria so there is a bit of rough stuff about here.

We haven't had it on very rough roads yet ,but have had it on dirt roads with no problems every seal is a pinch weld rubber seal ,also we have gone through some very heavy rain  whilst traveling with no leaks

I’ve owned a Jimboomba Madison for nearly 5 years and I’m happy with the quality of the trailer. I also dealt with Rob who was the original owner who is now back and he really was the brains of the business. I went with Jimboomba mainly because we mainly do beach camping so the alloy comes in handy with no rust problems along with the weight reduction.

I’ve never towed it on miles of corrugations so can't comment on how they handle that over time, but it has been given a good short sharp bouncing on some of the sand tracks at speed with nothing broken.

We have been in some pretty serve storms and inside the living area has stayed dry and no rips to the canvas. Also towing along the road we have driven in some very heavy rain with no water getting into the trailer.

Thanks Beachman they seem to be built really well have done a fair bit of backwards and forwards but have finally made up our minds to go with Jimboomba Explorer with a few little extras quite happy with it all so far can't wait to pick it up in 6 to 7 weeks and give it a test run.

Pretty excited actually...

You'll be happy with your choice. As well as the alloy body they have a full length Duragal chassis that is as solid as they come.

Hi just ordered a Jimboomba waiting on delivery we tossed up between trackabout extender and the Jimboomba my wife liked the Jimboomba better because of the extra prep area in kitchen.

Just hauled our Maddison around Tassie for nearly 5 weeks im so glad we went the lighter CT way made all the difference with towing and fuel consumption.We had so many people ask about it,mainly because of the alloy construction.Enjoy yours.
