Pro racks and awning?
« on: December 26, 2012, 07:05:10 PM »
Hi all

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and hope those on hols are out enjoying it camping.  Back to work tomorrow for me  :(

I have posted before with awning questions and have tried to do a search on this but could not find any info. Can anyone give advice regarding roof racks and awnings.  We were looking at the prorack range the trade ones, does anyone have any info on these and do you know if they can have an awning attached.  Also are the prorack range worth looking at? We would just be looking at a pull out side awning like the oztrail one perhaps.

We have a 2010 D-Max dual cab.

Thanks Renee

Hi we have the Pro rack  Whispers Thru bars and the  Rhino awning that has the exact fitting kit to go into the Pro rackWhispers. The Whispers look better and are quiet. I also have the Pro rack Pod 450 ltr on top to complete the system.I purchased all the Pro rack gear on sale  at Supercheap and the pod plus the Rhino awning was on a camping show special for $300. I only use the pod on certain trips. You need the thru bars so you can have them offset to one side where your awning fits.

Thanks again we had a look at super cheap and rays today braving the boxing day sales.  Super cheap only had the prorack accessories on sale not the bars themselves so can wait till they come on again.  Ray's had only one half kit of the type we needed.  That is ok we can look and find what we want and keep our eye out for sales prices.

If anyone else has any experience with these please let me know  :D

Thanks I didnt think of doing that with the email I will register for that now.  Our Rays and super cheap are next door to each other ;D and BCF is 2 mins up the road from them, so spent this morning going back and forth from the first 2 seeing who stocked what.  BCF did not have the trade level prorack series.
