Hot water
« on: December 18, 2012, 02:05:29 PM »
We are looking at buying something to give us hot water for a shower. We are looking at one of these:

http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp ... d#90032695

We don't really want to fork out $400+ for the aquacube etc.

Has anyone used these? How do you find them?

Pretty sure there's a manufacturers vid on you tube if you want to check out setting it up etc.

I have the older style (not the $400 one) and we only use it in Winter - bloody excellent though!  However, we try where possible to pre-heat any water on the fire ... might as well save some gas for when we do need it and the fires going anyway so it's smart.  It's like having a real shower ... only you are camping.

We also turn it on and off (best part of the AquaCube ... shower head operates the on / off ... no need for a second person) and soap up to conserve water.

During Summer, Spring, Autumn, fill a billy and put it on the fire ... pour into a bucket with cold water to suitable temp ... use a cup to move water from bucket to body ... TA DA ...

Yep I got 1. Bought it from Amazon. Heater, shureflo pump and filter, shower attachment, $240 delivered, works very well, water can get too hot to put your hand in.In hindsight I would only use it to heat the water then just use a 12v portable shower from the bucket/container to wash with, much easier to set up
