Has anyone tried the new iPad mini as a GPS?
There are a number of probs with the Ipad Mini For navigation
- The cheapest model with a GPS in it starts at $509 as it need to be the model with 3G or Cellular access -- The Standard Wi-Fi models don't come with a GPS making them useless for Navigation (Compare this with say a Android Nexus 7 that starts at about $241 that comes with a GPS)
- Google Maps it still lacking on the Ipads -- Yes it available but it's the version for the mobile phones -- I guess Google will soon release proper Ipad version as opposed to the Iphone version (I think Google is playing games as it shouldn't be too hard for them to release an actual Ipad version of Google Maps)
- No OruxMaps for Ipads -- I love OruxMaps
- My posts in the "Myswag Navigation and Communication" section is useless for Ipads
Other than that and if you have lots of $$$$ -- Ipad minis are a nice piece of hardware
