Throwing out my Jayco awning...... If anyone wants it
« on: August 05, 2012, 08:29:09 PM »
Sounds a bit odd, but I'm throwing out my Jayco awning from my Hawk.

I've had some trouble with it as the zips leak and let water in. This of course makes it go mouldy when stored.

It also has a small tear in the awning about 1/2 a foot long, but its under the bag bit and doesnt really affect it.

Because I'm sick of cleaning it, I bought a new one from the wonderful people at budget bedfly's (plugging them if its allowed as they went above and beyond and were great to deal with and well priced!)

Now I have my old one which I'm quite happy to send to the big sulo bin on bin night.................

BUT -

I thought I'd ask if anyone wants it???

I'll admit, its given me grief from the zips being useless, but if someones handy or can sew, its probably easy fixed.
3 years old and dirty, but I have the awning and bedflys complete without any poles to anyone who wants them.

Otherwise on bin night - out they go.

Just thought I'd ask just in case.......

Don't suppose you still have this? Alas, I will not be in Sydney for another 3 weeks.

I do, but as warned, its in dire need of lots of love.

A good clean with pine -o- clean should do the trick.
Zips totally useless, and No poles - I needed them for the new one.

Can keep it for you if you want.....

I am definitely interested, and was thinking that I could use it for shade and shelter on the kitchen side of my old Jayco. I will not need any poles for my plans.

How does the awning attach to the Camper. I am assuming that it attaches via rope track?
When you talk about the zips being useless, are you referring the zips on the bag, or the zips which attach the annexe walls?

The body of my camper is about 310cm long, but if the awning is longer that should not be a great problem.

I will be coming to Sydney on 29-30 Sept. Are you around that weekend.

I will be staying with my family in Nth Sydney, so will need to work out when I can extricate myself from family to do the return trip out to Rouse Hill.

Yes - sail track

Yes the zips on the bags. Leak like a sieve and hence the mould. Wall zips are all OK

I should be, but even if I'm not I can leave them out for you.

When you're down here, PM me and I'll give you my address and phone number
