Don't waste a day!
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:57:31 PM »
Yesterday one of my work colleagues collapsed at his desk and passed away in hospital last night. he had a brain aneurysm so there were no signs or warning that something was wrong. He had just come back from his lunch time walk, and in a jovial mood. 2 minutes later is was unconscious and not breathing.

He was only in his early fifties.

Don't waste a day, get out there and do those things you have been meaning to do, and don't forget to tell your loved ones you love them.

To Neil you will be greatly missed, and my thoughts are with your wife and daughter.

Seize The Day (where possible) ... it's my motto when I do finally get out of bed.

Sorry to hear of your collegues plight.  It's those sudden and unexpected deaths that hurt loved ones the most I think.

I do agree:  Always tell them you love them ... you never know when you may (n)ever see them again.

Very sad to hear  :-[

It just enforces the fact that we are on this earth for a short time and ultimately the only thing that matters is family and friends.

Sorry to hear LB

Brain aneurysms are nasty I lost an older brother a few weeks before his 32nd birthday to one - no warning (other than headaches a few weeks prior)

A special friend (she was like a little sister to my mum and a big sister to us girls) died in her early forties from a brain aneurysm. Very unexpected and a shock to all those who loved her. It was back in 1984 and we still miss her today. Even today I was just thinking about her.

Best wishes to you, LB, and and your workmates family.

G'day LB,
I'm saddened to hear you mate didn't make it.
My thoughts are with your mates family and his mates.
I suffered a brain aneurysm(cerebral hemorrhage) some 13 years ago this coming December 2nd.
I was 33 years old, my eldest Daughter was 13 months, Fysh Didn't know she was pregnant with our second daughter, Conceived the night before  ;D
She didn't realize until some four months later, to busy worrying about she will have to raise a daughter without a husband and her little girls dad.
One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was,
Sitting in an eye specialist waiting room, I have blurred vision from the blood pressure that build up inside my brain.
The lady sitting next to me in her 60's had a young man in his mid twenties with her, Just by looking at him I got the impression that the Lights were on, but nobody was home(I mean this in a nice way). After talking for awhile, she asked me what had happened to me, after explaining about the brain aneurysm, she started to cry and was really upset, She looked me in the eye and asked why I was the way I was and her son was the way he was, because that was what had happened to him.
Sorry to waffle on, but you are right, life is very special, And I know how lucky I am.
Get outside every day, Miracles are waiting everywhere
I hope your mates family and you will be ok.
Take care.

Thank you for all your kind words.

It is really hard to imagine this larger than life person will not be there Monday morning. And I can't even imagine what his family is going through he was fine when he left in the morning. He had been with our company for 16 years and touched so many people.

We are better people for knowing him.

Evening Greg,
It was a lot tougher for Fysh then me, the first few months I had no idea about anything, short term memory loss, I mean short term, five seconds. Kinda like Ground Hogs day from my side, Fysh went through hell  :'(
Anyway, LB, What got Fysh through these worrying times was a  :cup: network of friends & Family.
Without them life would of crumbled around us.
Support each other
He will always be in your thoughts.
