There were rumours on the forum, for the word had passed around
That a camper trailer from China had arrived
It was a hard floor with a toolbox - it weighed two thousand pound
From it's long trip many wondered how it survived
All the tried and tested makers of camper trailers near and far
Were bolstered by the intruder in their sight
For these swaggers love their camping where the wild bush tracks are
They weren't about to give in without a fight

Then fast the threads did follow, their opinions cruel and bent
Of the need to buy Australian instead
And the battlers answered fiercely, It's camping that we want
And we'll do it in our imported Chinese tent
Then upward, ever upward, the annexes did rise
In National Parks and camps Australia wide
Then my beloved one whispered to me , Can we go home now dear
I'll freeze me tits off if I don't get inside

Here's my ramblings ;D

Camping setup – a wife’s monologue
I don’t like this, not flat enough, we need more space to put our stuff
the table will be on a lean, lets move to another spot I’ve seen
Not close enough, to that shade, A foot to the right will have it made ,
Back it in, back out, too far, too near. Yes dear, we can fit it here
What’s that, oh no, it is a dip, we wouldn’t want the kids to trip
And a root protruding, we can’t have that, we’ll never make that mat lie flat

Reverse again around that rock, between the trees and concrete block
Face it east, or south or west, that’s the place I’ll like the best
Too close to the fire, too far from the  dunny
Don’t face the neighbours, they’ll think us funny
Spin it around, oh its already pegged
Do it anyway you haven't dropped the legs
Wait! stop your work! I hope,   you haven’t tied  that final rope, ,
I’ve found another site that 's better, if it pours we’ll be less wetter

Ok, that’s it, I think I’m done, setting up is so much fun
Oh before you sit and have a beer, could you go be a dear.
And set up that shower tent and hot water, and loo, and washing line, and  tables and chairs,
and ........where  did you go?.........

thanks Marschy,
It got a bit Dr Suessy at times ;D

Both me and my chinese tent liked your new classic - they could make a movie out of it!
Imagine a 4wd & camper in tow descending that really steep hill from the original movie.....I'd pay to see that

They could call it something like "The Tent from old Tibet" (can't think of a place in China that rhymes with Regret)

Banjo Paterson and Dr Seuss, two of my all time favourite authors :cup: You've done them proud Marschy and SkyPig.

By the way SkyPig, have you been watching us set up camp? ;D

Now, we all know the hit song by the Monkees......  :D

"I'm a GIC Believer" as done by Uncle Creepers.

I thought love was only true in camping shops
Meant for someone else but not for me.
GIC was out to get me
That's the way it seemed.
Disappointment haunted all my dreams.

Then I saw my camper, now I'm a GIC believer
Not a trace of doubt, left in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a GIC believer!
I couldn't sell my CT if I tried.

I thought camping was more or less a given thing,
Seems the more I spent the less I got.
What's the use in camping?
All you get is pain.
When I needed sunshine I got rain.

Then I saw my CT, now I'm a GIC believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a GIC believer!
I couldn't sell her if I tried.

The End.

No, i don't have a GIC trailer, but i know someone who would've got a woody over this.  ;D

I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

Yep, got a hidden camera filming everything  ;D
So we are not the only ones to have arguments....er vigourous discussions on setting up?? . I reckon if your relationship can survive setting up camp more than once, you must have a good thing??

Uncle Creepers has outdone himself with the GIC song ;D
Loved it!
In the interests of full disclosure, I am allowed to comment as I do have a GIC tent, (albeit on a rather more substantial trailer  - Can't beat Track's MC2 suspension  8))
