im thinking about heading down to shallow crossing in the next few months and i was wondering if anyone knows how they feel about boats. A few of the people going with me will have canoes and kayaks but im not a fan of paddling and was going to take my tinnie.
so does anyone know if they would be fine with it?

No worries with boats.A couple of probs though, one no ramp so portage is required and two, rapids just below camp and the causeway above. You can launch above or below the causeway.I have taken mine 11" tinnie with 8hp, worth the effort.

can anyone me give an idea, condition etc, of the river road into shallow crossing from the kings hwy. i would imagine its pretty much 2wd friendly and maintained, to a degree.

i havnt been there for a few years but it was a fairly decent dirt road. easily do-able with a 2wd. specially in the rain. just some tight turns that you need to be going a suitable speed for

We went there at Easter and the road was pretty good considering all the rain we had at the time. My son drove in with a lowered AWD without any dramas.

There is one small river crossing coming in along the river road, but very easy.......just pause a bit and survey the easiest way across ( basically follow the direction of the road )..
