How the hell did this get into the 'general discussion ' thread?

It should be moved to the electrical section then locked. This section is for serious stuff like
Dodgy mods
Have you found a bargain
Jokes
Funny photos
Most ivationals
You know, all the stuff to keep us going strong.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Yes, but the difference with that forum is that people are staking their reputations and livelihood on that information.  If you reckon something is the way it is, you had better be prepared to back that claim up with evidence.

Being an electricians forum you would expect people who post there to be able to find a clause in the Wiring Rules, if they can't they aren't much of an electrician are they?

The other thing that a lot of non-electricians don't really understand is that the Wiring Rules are written into state legislation, ie, they are law.  If they aren't followed you are breaking the law, and electricians can, have and will be prosecuted in a court of law for not following them.

Mock all you like, but it is serious stuff.

I was in BUNNINGS the other day and overheard a sales assistant in the Electrical area explaining to a fella how to tap into his 240 in the house using blue points..... ???

He's got it wrong then....we all know you use diagonal cutters and an insulated soldering iron.....
You can't spell 'funeral' without 'fun', nor 'manslaughter' without 'laughter'

Just a quick question:
Is it OK to have a 15 amp plug on a 10 amp lead?
