Hi Frostd,
I have an 32 GB Acer Iconia A500 (non 3G) which I've had for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it, I don't think my netbook has been used since buying it. I mainly use it to keep myself amused on my 1 hour 20 minute train ride to the city and then back home again. I watch TV shows or movies on it and every once in a while I'll get a train with free Wifi and I'll then surf the web. At work I use it in meetings to take notes and I find Evernote fantastic for this type of work.
Anyway here are a list of the apps I use, I tend not to buy apps unless they come very highly recommended by someone who has used them. Also make sure you have a password to purchase apps from the Android market I find a lot of the free apps have advertising (hence free) and the kids will sometimes select banners and end up in the Android market to buy the full version or related apps by the developer -could prevent accidental purchases.
