Second spare wheel
« on: January 29, 2012, 08:27:24 AM »
Hi, wanting some advice on where to buy a second spare wheel for our Hilux.  Last year we clocked up 20,000 km travelling in Eastern States towing our camper. Happy with the one spare. We had one puncture. Much of the time on sealed roads but some travel on unsealed roads.

This year we will be away for four months in NT and WA and will be off the seal more - GRR etc.

We are currently staying with our daughter in Sydney and do not know the area well.  Hilux is a 2007 Diesel ute (SR) with 16 inch steel wheels.  We want to buy a secondhand wheel. Would also be interested in what others think is a reasonable price to pay

Many thanks

I know a new steel rim for a Cruiser is about $115 genuine from Toyota, can't imagine the Lux would be much different.

For a steel you should be able to buy a new one from any Toyota stealership for around $100-150

Edit - try this guy http://stores.ebay.com.au/SydneyCityParts?_trksid=p4340.l2563

Check with your local wrecker, especially if your not looking for an exact replica of current wheels.
