« on: November 11, 2011, 08:14:26 PM »
Just looking at some camper trailers on eBay..... one listing in particular caught my eye. I reckon this had to be the best value camper ever - simply because of all the extras you get for FREE

Amongst other things you get.....

tough off road suspension - axle, springs, shock absorbers and electric brakes - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Coupling and Parking Brake - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Stainless Steel Kitchen - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Toolbox, Spare Wheel and Stone Guard - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Watertank and Pump - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Battery and Battery Charger - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Gas Struts and Rubber Seals - INCLUDED FOR FREE

LED Lights, Rear Stabilizers and Number plate Light - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Water Filler Compartment, Gas Bottle Holders and Jerry Can Holders - INCLUDED FOR FREE

3 x Wheels (including spare) - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Bike Rack Receiver - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Tent - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Annexe - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Tent Cover - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Main Tent (yes i know we already had tent mentioned) - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Bed and Frame - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Tent Poles - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Tent Sealing and spare sealing tape (hmmmm that sounds like he doesnt trust his tents) - INCLUDED FOR FREE

Kitchen - INCLUDED FOR FREE

I mean the only thing you are paying for is the steel in the frame so surely it will only have a reserve of around $1,000   ;D

Seriously - how dumb to some people think others are???

Sorry I've got to correct you. You are bidding on a couple of bits of metal and a lot of bolts.

Not for me but someone on a budget with a tribe of kids it would be a good buy at 5500. The free pickup got me too are they going to waiver the entry fee into the factory.Tinkera.

Slightly off topice, but similar, so I'll apologise if I upset anyone, its not my aim...........

BUT...............

7 years ago I went to Nissan to buy a patrol.
Apart from looking like I was smoking some substance as I wanted a white ST manual 3.0l turbo diesel with bullbar, snorkel, and tow pack.
When asked what I was trading I said a white ST manual 3.0l turbo diesel with bullbar, snorkel, and tow pack.
She said "yes I know what you want, but what are you trading in?"
A "white ST manual 3.0l turbo diesel with bullbar, snorkel, and tow pack"

No she couldn't understand I justed wanted to update. It was all too confusing...... ???

Then when she offered me a special deal, I couldn't refuse.
Instead of buying the standard patrol and optioning the bar snorkel etc, I could get "an outback pack" that came with a FREE bullbar, FREE snorkel, FREE, tow pack and Free car matts.

I thought great, I'll take it. :D Then she said the "outback pack" was $4,500 more than the standard ST.

Stupid me  :-[

So I could get a patrol standard at one cost, but if I wanted the outback pack with all the FREE extras it would cost $4500 more.
To this day the stupid cow couldn't work out that it was therefore NOT FREE............

Needless to say she didn't get the sale!!!.

What I find even stupider than her sales pitch ,was that people must fall for it or they wouldn't be doing it.........

(P.S. I ended up getting the outback pack for the same price as the standard ST with a great trade in from another dealer)

Let Darwin do his work, and instead of a carbon tax, bring in a "stupid" tax and a license for breeding.......
