Transcontinental - what spares should be taken?
« on: September 14, 2011, 07:23:58 AM »
Hello everyone.
We have a GU Diesel Patrol towing a challenge off road camper (Meridian) have done a number of "small" trips like Gibb River Road, Cape Leveque, Tanami, Oodnadatta Track etc etc but next year are planning a transcontinental from East to West.
My question to those more experienced is - Just what spares should I be carrying?  Obviously the snatch strap then belts, radiator hoses, spare wheels and an extra carcus, tool kit etc and the vehicle manual, some coolant, oils and brake fluid;.... wheel bearings, castle nuts, split pins, grease, extra wheel nuts for the camper. But what about a spring pack?  Can anyone suggest additional items which are a must?
Looking forward to reading responses from you.
Thanks,
