Hi
« on: September 02, 2011, 08:34:29 PM »
G'day all, joined yesterday. I'm as far as trying to find a tow hitch kit for my jeep :) but you got a start somewhere!

Always loved our camping and now we've been here a year I'm looking around for a camper trailer...recently spent many hrs researching telescopes and that was tough selecting the correct one but good fun. Campers appears to throw up a similar challenge!

Thanks in advance and good to be on the forum.

Mark

If you like to kill hours researching things, you've come to the right spot. What are you looking for in a camper?

My wish list

1) family of Five, so need to accommodate
2) no space in my jeep 4x4 to carry kit, so camper must have that ability
3) lots of 2 night camps.. Ie weekends plus the long getaway twice a year
4) love my cooking, so a good kitchen
5) lots of gadgets, 12v or wired for electrical a must have
6) need a fridge
7) easy setup
8) upgradeable ie manual water now, electric later.
9) on and off road capability
10) quality, I'm not interested in imported 2nd rate quality to find I'm always on the phone to none existen customer service! Nope that doesn't work for me!

I met Glen today and just loved the 17ft all terrain camper he showed us, beauty! But budget constraints will mean I have to be realistic. I think their campers are the one that you eventually get but we will have to work our way up the ladder to that level due to price Maybe make do with something not so 'top end' for now..... A roof top tent now , camper next year and so on.

Unfortunately Aussie finance plans don't fit as we are on a 457 and they don't stretch past the term of the visa....so we have a max of 3 years! Albeit we are not moving again :) but that's the game we have to play.

Welcome to the forum Mark, good luck with the hunt, a tent will do even to get out and enjoy the outdoors
