MaxTrax ...
« on: June 08, 2011, 08:20:47 AM »
Hi All,

Don't know if it's been covered already and for those who haven't seen it yet. Supercheap have MaxTrax on special for $249 ... be aware that the design has changes recently too.

Thanks

I snapped up a set last week whilst on sale, I did go to my local ARB to see if they would match the price but no such luck so Supercheap got my dollars.

PS the RX3 does look great, had an RX7 myself

BCF have these on sale from time to time too, but only 279 I believe. You can get them for 274 at discount car accessories too, although I don't know what there service is like, or whether they are the old or new ones

Hmmm I don't need them but I have a $100 SCA voucher to spend, that would make them $150. Guess where I am going tomorrow :)

Bought my maxtrax today, no pics for Dan, it was their last set and had no box. The kind man at Supercheap sold them to me for $200. With the $100 voucher I had they only cost me $100 :) There must be a huge margin on these things.

For those of you who bought your maxtrax from SCA, did they come with the 'telltale leashes' as listed on the maxtrax site?

Not huge margins mate, just some twit that doesn't know what they cost, he just lost money.
Bit like the $250 tool box they sold me for $50 5 weeks ago, I knew what it was worth, but it had no price on it so the bloke offered it to me for $50. Their management prolly wonders why their share price is stale.

Great service from Maxtrax, Brad confirmed they were supposed to come with leashes and he is going to post some out to me free of charge :cup:

Is that so you can take them for a walk  ;D.

Did you just bolt them to the roof like an unused surf board  8).

What do the leashes do? Just to help you pull them out of the sand after you've used them?

We've got the older ones - no leashes with them. Been meaning to make up a couple of lengths of rope with carabiners on the ends so they can be easily latched onto the towbar, and they can pull themselves out. Not as bling as branded leashes, unfortunately.

Oh, and mine are still bolted to the roof of the Pathy since the weekend, so :-* . Keep forgetting to take them off. Never know when I might need them to get into the concrete carpark here at work.

Thanks!
Matto :)

It is surprising how easy it is to lose them! I remember digging for about 10 minutes trying to find a set that were buried in soft sand near Lancelin!

Maybe I'm tight or something, but I have long wondered how two bits of moulded plastic with bumps on them can cost nearly $300.
Cheers, Tony

Hi,
have you seen the prices on some of the products for out door use made of recycled murky grey plastic mix ?
Items such as seats, rails, steps etc - even signage, very expensive I thought, and it is not even a nice bright yellow.

cheers

Most of the cost is in the design and tooling, however once mass produced I would expect to see the price drop.

I guess dropping prices doesnt put extra concrete pillars on people houses though
