Hi Swaggers

The little lady and I decided to head to town and go to the show on Friday, now we have to drive as no public t'port where we live so went online printed off the carparks etc and planned to get there at 9am and have some breafast and coffee before the show opened.

I think the rest of the world had the same idea, when we arrived the 2 carparks were full and we had to go over to another and me getting lost didn't help, then the long walk to get to the showgrounds only to see a kids train setting up to ferry people back and forth.

Anyway we battle the crowds for the day and pick up a couple of bits and pieces and while sitting under a tree got chatting with one of the show helpers in his white coat and I mentioned about the parking problems and with it all being on one side it was very crowded and hard to get around and he said that they had a few businesses get angry over the lack of space that was given to them and next year will be worst, so I ask why well there will be no parking in the other side at all and there not sure if they will have the same area for the show....

Now we don't go to the show every year come to think of it - it's been 4 or 5 years since the last time we went in, but I think unless they move it to a bigger area with better parking then alot of folks from outside SE Qld wouldn't be able to go.

So what did you think of the show.....??

Cheers

PS My new friend in the white coat also mentioned that all parking was full by 11am on Friday

we went in on saturday. same thing with the parking.
as for the show i was a bit dissapointed. plenty there if you wanted to spend big bucks on a caravan or motorhome. seems to me if you were a smaller mob you were stuck over in a corner some where.

We went on Saturday.  After being held up at the Blackbutt Range for 15 mins (just missed the time slot) we arrived at the RNA at 9.45am to get one of the last parks on the RNA showring.

I actually preferred the show only being on one side of the road.  We start at the bottom and work our way up and after having very sore feet by about 4.30pm, I was glad I didn't still have one pavilion across the road to go to.

Most of what we went to see was there.  A few displays in different spots.  But overall it was pretty good.  It was easy enough to find the displays that we wanted to go back to on the way out.

We went yesterday. The secret to getting a car park is to get there early! because most people spend the whole day in there and once it's full, it's full for the day.

We enjoyed the show, everything we wanted to see was there.

We went on Sat and had the same problem with the parking caper, will look into the take a train senario and save on the 2km walk, show was good but I agree that the venue needs to be bigger to accomodate the amount of exhibitors and the visiting public, all good though,

Went on Saturday for 5 hours.

Like last year, I was put off by the crowds. Had a good look around - most of the CT manufacturers I wanted to see were there, but a couple were not. I presume the organisers charge an absolute fortune for manufacturers to set up a display. Hence, not all go.

Made the mistake of not taking my own lunch. Needed a third mortgage to buy a burger and drinks.

Picked up a few good ideas for a couple of mods I'll make. Disappointed with the "no photographs" condition of entry, but I understand the reason for it.

Public transport is the key to getting there for locals.  It is only a short 5 minute walk to Brunswick St Station from the St Pauls Terrace entrance gate.

we went yesterday took the inlaws in to look at new caravans but we were interested in the ct's, parking wasnt a problem we parked in the back streets and didnt have to walk far. seem to me not alot of trailers there this  year but with the demolition going on in there a few displays must have missed out this year, not quite sure. Over all wasnt a  bad day but the so called show specials weren;t really a special when i came home and found the same thing cheaper on ebay today.

I agree with Crookedpete, regarding the assumption of charges for stall sites.
There are so many manufacturers of Camper Trailers out there, yet this wasn't reflected at the show.
Can anyone tell me if there is such an event that PURELY has camper trailer manufacturers exhibiting?
No names, but one particular mob practically had kids manning their site which was disappointing.
Anyway, glad we went, now it's back to the classifieds...
