Didnt lose a cent didnt bet never do.  It is just another horse race and i have never bet on horses so why change for one race year.  It makes me laugh how so many people suddenly become an expert on melbourne cup day.

Nup, Don't gamble.
 ;D life's a big enough gamble at times  8)

Father taught three things in life.
Don't gamble what you can't afford to loose out of your back pocket,
Don't sell what you can't afford to buy,
And it's the second.................
You'll have PM me, I'll get moderated if i post that.

He, my father, use to study the form guide every week, would only put a bet if he was 100% sure.
He reckoned, you needed 80K put aside just to punt with to be a professional punter, this was over 25 years ago, .
Didn't play Lotto or other chance games.
I only buy a raffle ticket if it is going to a good local cause.

To those that won, good onya, those that lost, if you are prepared for the lost, again good onya.
Hope you had a great day.

You don't use magic to disappear, all you need is a 4wd & a Swag ;)

Some people are lucky some are not.  My son is 20 years old, disabled and just beautiful. For the last twenty years of my life I have placed a bet, for each member of my family (which has now grown to 5) a $2 each way bet on the horse of their choice.  Results so far are as follows Dad - 0 out of 20 (0/20), Mum - 0/20, Daughter No1 - 1/16, daughter No2 - 1/12 and finally my son (after today) 16/20.  Honestly the little bugger is blessed!!!!! :cup:

I bet $5 each way on 3 horses each year.
I don't know their names, who's riding them, what colours they wear, or the history of the starts ... and I don't do too badly.
I always bet #3 / #6 / #9.

Some years I lose, some years I break even, this year I romped home with gusto.   ;D  Yeehar!  Just over 1/2 tank of fuel profit.
I also broke even on the sweep at work where I spend $10.   ;D

My horses cam home and thats all I'm saying ;) .

I only bet on the Melbourne cup as it's the Australian thing to do. I never play pokies. I have never known anyone to make more from them than they have put in to me that is a huge loss.

I always flick a tenner into the work sweep to donate to someone else in the office.  Think our horses are still running.
