I use 2 pieces of bungy cord tied parallel to each other from the rear panic handles above the door, in a wagon. Sorry - I know  :worthles: BUT it's pretty straight forward and works well. SWAMBO has her hat on her side and mine is on my side, easy to access and "cheap as"

I've also seen where people have used that stretchy white curtain hanging cord, and run two lots across just behind the front seats I think off the two rear door grab handles.  Hope that makes sense.  Very cheap and also can accomodate more than one hat.

If your unsure of the stuff I'm talking about, I'll post up a pic.

Edit:- Same idea as Draggin

That's great but how do you stop them from shrinking with the heat. I have been through two akubras now? ??? ???

I have a hat saver but I mounted it off the cargo barrier in the back seat
I can't stand stuff hanging from the roof in the front

The Hat Retainer & Stretcher Retains &/or stretches hat size. When not wearing your hat, place the plastic hat retainer into your hat. Your hat cannot shrink while drying. The retainer serves as a storage substitute for your head. Screw adjustment fits up to a size 7 5/8.

My wife would agree with that.....   ;D ;D

But isn't pushing it against the roof the same as putting it down on a table brim side down.  Hubby is always complaining if someone puts his hat down like that because is wrecks the shape of the brim where it dips down at the front. His hat always has to be placed upside down on a flat surface.

Agree... with my good hat, i like to keep the front low, so i store on a shelf with the front hanging over,, a dummy would work the same,  but i have to move about a bit and cant always wear it..................  ;D
