This has been a great site to discover with great advice, but it's costing me some money !!!

Waiting for my TK41 to arrive, have replaced my main battery in the car with an Optima Yellow Top, spent $200 on a thousand LEDs for the car (but the results are good), built a 1m LED  strip light with magnets on the back that sticks to the pole above the kitchen and apparently I need a Stihl or Husqvarna chainsaw............

And don't get me started on camera lenses........

I gave the TK45 a good working out over the long weekend. The spill was great - nice and floody - and amazingly bright. The TK41 is on the list of things to get but I'm about to order a couple of ZebraLight H51 headlamps.

Our last weekend camping was a good test - not only for the new kamper - but also the new Lenser M14 for SWMBO - she's happy, so I'm happy. The Lenser H7's performed perfectly as usual.

I've received the ZebraLight H51's and given them a go. For something that runs off a single AA battery, the light output is amazing. There is a lot of spill, so nice and floody. The head band is comfortable and the whole package is super light. The UI is easy to learn with three settings (low, medium, and high) and for each, there is a low and high.

Even SWMBO likes it  :cheers:

My TK41 arrived today and being my first Fenix, very impressed.

Also got a E30 or 31 I think, takes 2 AA batteries. Impressed with this too, but they are very focused.

If I can get passed the TK45's looks, is it really a nice, spread beam that would be good on a lower setting for general use?

Need to find a good hand held with nice flood rather than the really focused beams. Realistically, we should be calling the TK41 a spotlight, not a torch.

Yeah, the TK45 is essentially a hand held floodlight. The hotspot won't burn your eyes, instead, you'll get a lot of spill and it will light up a really wide area. Personally, I find a light with more spill far more useful that a focused spotlight. Perhaps its because my eyes wouldn't make out details for something illuminated several hundred metres away at night; rather I like to light up the area so I can see where I'm going and what I'm about to step on  :D

The look of the TK45 is certainly unique. Because of the design, there is no chance of it rolling off a table  :cheers:

Could have used one of these to try and slow people down on the Cape roads to save getting showered in rocks every time someone meets you doing 100 mph.

Have the copies started to fail or burn down your CT or house ? I see forums full of unhappy buyers wanting hang someone.  If it is a copy what are people that have them going do ? and if your paying farkkk all for something that seems to be doing all that the original dose, to me might suggest that an original might be over priced, even if it is by the middle man.
Find a torch your happy with at a price your willing to pay and buy...  8)

Just out of intrest, are Led-lenser going replace the fakes with genuine's or are they just counting numbers ?

Maybe they should try the interweb or China, EBay and or anyone selling for a less than retail price. From that post, to me i sounds like they got there man there, why ask for the numbers or serials unless there offering a replacement.

I purchased a LED Lenser P7 and also a couple of LED Lenser H7R head torches.
Lol I clean houses so I use my headtorch occasionally to make sure I haven't missed any cobwebs!

The thing I dislike about the P7 is that it goes from high to low to off, so if you're not mindful it could be easy to forget to switch it off and leave it on low accidentally. But that's just an annoyance of mine. Brightness wise the H7R and P7 seems about equal, although if I was buying again and paying a decent kind of price I would look into the regulated head torches possibly.

This is where I purchased mine (it's a UK store I've brought plenty of mtb gear off them in the past).

Only problem is for the H7R the wall plug is UK style so needs an adapter. I've got around that by just using the usb cord for charging through the laptop.

P7 certainly a lot more portable and batteries last longer than the old MagLite it replaced, but of course you can't whack people with the P7, and you could with the MagLite.
