Hi All
We've got no free weekends until Xmas now, but there's no reason not to catch up. I propose meeting up for a drink and a meal at the Ettamogah Hotel (http://maps.google.com.au/maps/place?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=ettamogah+pub+kellyville&fb=1&gl=au&hq=ettamogah+pub&hnear=Kellyville+New+South+Wales&cid=12020531138354485271)in Rouse Hill.
Plus, we need to start planning some more trips for early next year.
So, anyone keen? Date is a bit flexible, bring your families, nice food, plenty of space and extensive play area for kids.
-
Sounds good but I got to check Fee's work roster.
-
Thought you meant the Ettamogah pub near Albury I would have driven up!

i used to live up near there. back when i lived in Quaker's Hill Acacia Gardens. Aah, the good old days when i played rugby for hills...

The one near Albury is the original at the place called Ettamogah - where the comic book was set. The bloke who wrote the comic strips was a copper down that way for many years apparently.
They built that one to look like it was drawn, I think the rest are all a franchise or something taken from there.
-
Jules if you giong to hit your kick at a PUB where do you think Id be ?;D ;D ;D
What about a weekend in Albury area
-
I'm in - that's a Thursday, right?
Ros & I will be there. It will be good to meet up, haven't been on a My Swag camping weekend for a few months.
Mal
-
All welcome.
If you haven't met anyone from the forum, this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself, get involved in planning for trips in January and beyond, or sooner if you're keen.
-
I have to drive back to sydney thursday afternoon anyway so I might as well go via the pub!
-
yeah, got excited too, thought ettamogah pub sunshine coast, only two hours away, could have had a shopping trip and a night out. enjoy all :-[
-
Ettamogah pub , no such thing actually existed at the area known as Ettamogah which had only a shop with a petrol bowser out front , was an area roughly 1/2 way [5miles] between the old Albury abattoirs which is now the site of the new Base Hospital and the Hume Weir . The pub designs came from the cartoons drawn by the police sgt stationed out that way published in the Post magazine in the 60's ,most of the cartoon characters were taken from real identities living in Albury and surrounds , the barber + barber shop was in Lavington ,can remember getting the short back and sides every 4th Saturday morning for the princely sum of 6 pence prior to Feb 66 and 10 cents there after.
-
AAAAARRRRHHHHH Bugger! :'( I'll be in Canberra (Queanbeyan) from the 9th, most likely the whole weekend
-
Alloy C/T whats this ? ( why wont this thing load pics ? )

-
Seems like I should franchise this meet, there's more interest interstate so far.
-
Hi Bigjules,
I'm in, will be flying solo as JW and junior are both away that week
-
Now discussed with Fee, If she is working i'll come down with the kids.

Mrs Snow and I are starters for this gig. See you's guys there......I hope ;D

Ah, erm, cough.
My team Xmas party was rescheduled due to poor weather so I am now not able to make it.
I hope there is enough interest for this to go ahead anyway, as we need to get some trips on the board for early next year.

why not just have your xmas party at the ettamogah pub????? promise that we will behave ourselves
-
As I say, I am unlikely to be able to attend, unless the weather is so bad the rescheduled event gets called off as well.
-
Hi All - I presume this is still on tomorrow night?
-
We will be there.
The weather will be rubbish tomorrow so Jules will have no excuse to duck the night. ;D ;D
-
We should be there.
Anywhere in particular at the pub? Carnations in lapels?
John.

I'm planning on being there somewhere around sixish - and will be hungry after driving from nelson bay!
-
I may not be able to get down there now. Looks like I have a couple of big days coming up with workpossibly with lateish finishes. I am still trying to make it though.
-
SWMBO & I have decided we will be there about 7 for a drink & a meal. I have printed off a copy of the My Swag banner (top of the page) so will be flashing that around. If you see someone acting like an idiot with an A4 piece of paper and some picture on it, then that may be me. Come up and put me out of my misery :).

-
I was thinking of wearing my Myswag cap. ;D
Ohh yeah, we will be there about 6 ish.

I'm disappointed to miss this, but a man's got to pay his bills first, so the work function will take precedence.
Have a good night, and think up a few trips for the new year. I'd go so far as to suggest another trip to Clarence Town even.
-
Have fun guys and a drink or two, unfortunately we can't make it.

Have fun tonight, a bit far for us, we may just have to visit our local Ettamogah Pub instead. When planning trips for the new year, think of some down south from Sydney and we might be able to come join you for a weekend. There are some great places along the Murrumbidgee River, from Burrinjuck to Wagga, about 3 to 4 hours south of where you will be tonight. . . . That is if the river doesn't destroy everything while it is flooding at present. There is also Wee Jasper, great camping, caves to look at and some 4wding available also.
Dave
-
I was supposed to be in Shepparton tonight but the Hume is shut so I didn't go..
Can anyone come for a quick JD?
-
I was meant to be in Queanbeyan tonite but the place has washed away and didn't feel like going in this sh!tty weather cause it's still bucketing down apparently
Forgot about this, and as I've aready had an arvo sherbet I guess I'd better not drive.
-
Sorry Guys. :'( Had emergency at work and only just got home at 10.30
Still would like to catch up and look at the Fat Geko Lindsay
-
It was great to catch up with Malcur, Estelle, Lcandlc, and Joff. The only thing missing was the campfire. ;D
-
Hey where were you? I got there about 7-ish, hung around until 10 past 8 and couldn't find anyone waving a sign or wearing a 'long drop' hat
Didn't say I was going because I didn't think I'd be able to make it, but decided at the last minute that I could.
You probably saw me wandering around but wouldn't know who I was.
-
We were on the platform near the eatery/bar until about the trivia bloke started yapping so we moved outside onto the covered bench seats near the entrance to the bar. I actually had my 'Snow' cap on. Sorry we missed you Marie.
-
I just called in, no one around.

no problem Carl - perhaps that will be an excuse for another gathering somewhere soon.

What about a weekend in Albury area
Dont forget the floaties if you come. We are a bit wet after Wednsdays rain. the range behind us had 180mm in one storm that passed over, Flash floods, closed roads houses damaged etc.
Went to the opening of the Ettamogah pub at Ettamogah itself years back. We still drop in fomr time to time for a beer. Not a bad spot to spend an arvo at!
-
The idea of a meet down in the eastern Murrumbidgee area was touted so as to entice some of the Canberrans and Mexicans.
Two other spots were Shallow Crossing, just SE of Ulladulla and Bendethera, just inland from Moruya were also put up as spots worthy of a meet.
Also a local Sydney gathering at Burralow Swamp at the start of Feb was seen as a good idea. Any excuse to get around a camp fire.

Let us know next time you going Dave, would be good to catch up again and a visit to the pub out there is overdue...
I know of three of these pubs, are there more? Maybe they will end up being the unofficial meeting place of Myswaggers...
-
Good to see you both Saturday night at the lawn bowls or was that beer and bowls  or bowls and beer?? Still had a fun night trying to sus it out!
Have a good xmas
-
