It is something, that nobody wants to go through, to go to work, and your family member don't get to see you come home.
I'm referring to the shocking incident where the Coles employee was attacked by a youth with a knife.
Coles response,
They will not stock Kitchen Knives.
I'm trying to understand this response
"Coles will no longer sell knives in its supermarkets nationwide after a staff member was stabbed in an allegedly random attack near Brisbane.
The 63-year-old worker was stabbed in the back while filling fridges at Yamanto Central shopping centre in Ipswich on Monday.
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder, accused of stabbing the woman with a knife.

On a recent trip to England, I had to show ID to be able to buy a small fruit knife in a department store. But the stoopid thing is, all they did was look at it, and didn't take any details. Which makes you wonder, what was the point of showing ID? It wasn't for proof of age, FMD I'm 70 yrs old.
-
It's all about Coles endevouring to generate some good news by showing how concerned they are about their workers.
Be a better situation if they dropped their exorbitant prices for the general public.
Just another knee jerk reaction.

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder, accused of stabbing the woman with a knife.
A Coles supermarket worker is fighting for her life after allegedly being stabbed in the back by a 13-year-old boy. The teen allegedly approached the 63-year-old worker as she filled fridges at the Yamanto Central Shopping Centre
Stabbed in the back FFS... and the sad thing is being so young, he will get a stern talking to and a finger waved at him - and returned to be a worthless parasite on the community again... I'm tipping he's one of the people that get away with everything...

"A teenage boy was out on bail in Queensland when he allegedly stabbed a Coles
supermarket worker so hard in the back the knife came through the front of her abdomen.
The 13-year-old has been charged with attempted murder over the alleged attack at Yamanto Central shopping centre, Ipswich, on Monday afternoon.
Queensland Police allege he grabbed a knife off the shelves and stabbed duty manager Claudia Campomayor Watt as she was stocking shelves, before fleeing the scene.
Ms Watt, 63, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, and has since improved to serious while being treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The teenager was out on bail for a number of offences at the time of the alleged incident, including for an alleged attack on a carer using scalding hot milk which left her with burns to her neck and face, 7 News reported."

A very stupid individual who put the lives of others at risk. Glad the sentence was increased. It seems stupid sh it on the roads generally goes unpunished.
The trial heard Russell, an experienced truck driver, directed and supervised his stepson and Ms Willis as they loaded the caravan, which became so heavy it exceeded the weight limits of the tow ball, axles and tyres.
The car was also filled with their possessions, and witnesses who came upon the crash were "amazed to see the amount of stuff packed into the caravan".
An expert described the effect of the overloaded caravan as "the tail wagging the dog".
During his original sentencing, Russell told the court he had packed the caravan in a similar way before.
He told a community corrections officer: "I was in the driver's seat, I have to live with that for the rest of my life."
The appeal court said the sentencing judge had also erred in finding the dangerous driving only began when the caravan started swaying.
"The dangerousness arose from (Russell's) deliberate decision to set off on a journey towing a grossly overloaded caravan," Justice Sarah McNaughton wrote in a unanimous judgment.
"The passengers, as well as members of the travelling public, were exposed to risk for the entire length of the journey."

Agree 100%
And there are plenty more out there overloading and towing with incompatible combinations that have no idea or dont care about the rules.

Man sentenced for stealing caravan in Hughenden with family inside
Birthday crime spree
The spate of offending began on August 15, the same day that Dunn turned 18.
The court heard he broke into two properties, taking a gun with ammunition from one and cash from another.
He posted videos of himself handling the stolen firearm to social media.
On August 19, Dunn stole a spare key to a car from a caravan at the Hughenden Allen Terry Caravan Park.
He returned to the holiday park that evening and stole the car that was chained, but not hitched, to a caravan.

The older I get the less this world makes sense...
Men's sheds have gained popularity around the country, offering a safe place for blokes to catch up with their friends and get on the tools.
But a men's shed in Brisbane's bayside has banned members from using power tools, with local zoning laws stating they can't make noise above a certain decibel.
And the local council is refusing to budge, releasing a statement "there is no provision to allow relaxation" on the rule.
"I've been fighting for about five years now to try and get this ban lifted," club president, Geoff Buchus told Today.
"All the tools we use are battery powered, there's nothing above about 65 decibels, but unfortunately I've just been coming up against a brick wall all the time."
Geoff said the environmental department imposed a blanket noise ban on Coochiemudlo Island, ?meaning noise can not exceed 35 decibels.

Hey, our councilours have decided to give our GM a pay increase for a job well done.
She now takes home nearly $7000.00 a week, $364000.00 a year
Yet. She has 30+ inquiries into her abuse of local goverment powers.
I hate the way councils regard their income base, that's all ratepayers are, an income base.

Cara parks have already been struggling to get affordable insurance with their high public risk.
Not just insurance, why should the caravan park owner foot the $16 to $25 it costs to recharge a EV. Parks are struggling at anytime.

You'd be right about that.
But didn't albo say,
You could plug your electric car in and charge over night for free, because of the solar panels on your roof.
Or words to that effect.

Simple answer on that one is install a PAYG charging station, so anybody who wants to charge can, but they pay for it!

They wont do that if they can sneak a lead out to the vehicle.

-
They wont do that if they can sneak a lead out to the vehicle.
Again, simple!
Ah, you've got an EV? Yes, that'll be an extra $"10" / night, thank you!
And then who pays for that ?
The same people who paid for the toilet block, camp kitchen, rainwater tanks, landscaping etc etc etc. The Park puts it in, because they'll make the money back to cover their costs. Same thing with Parks that have their own fuel pump installed (usually with bloody expensive fuel! :'() - noone forced them to do it, they just did it to provide an extra service to their customers.
-
Hi,
Don’t they charge extra to run air conditioners on the van overnight. Don’t have that much down here, though a 2kW heater would cost more.

I guess it's not all bad, though ???
It should well & truly cheese off His Trumpness! ;D
"The Firework singer will be joined by Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos's fiancee Lauren Sanchez, CBS presenter Gayle King, former Nasa rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn."
So obviously a "crew selected for their overall skill & ability ??? ::)
But when you look at it "A trip on the New Shepard typically lasts about 11 minutes, according to Blue Origin. It is fully autonomous - which means there are no pilots - and takes the passengers past the Karman line, internationally recognised as the edge of space." that's as much an all-woman space-flight as getting excited that there's only women on board the bus from Sydney to Brisbane! ::)

More than 20cm? you can buy a cooks knife longer than that. I bought a machete when I was about 15, and my 18 months younger brother got his at the same time. I still have mine.

Every couple of years this makes headlines.
Yes, there are Dickheads that do the wrong thing, not only on dunes. But forest tracks, within National Parks.
I don't know what the answer is, we all want experience where our vehicles can take us, Thanks why we spent the coin.
As our population grows, and vehicles become more affordable, and with all the cheaper add ons, people are unfortunately going to do damage to the environment.
And yes, I am someone who loves to get to those places most can't get to.
Hmm, in all honesty, beach driving doesn't interest me, all that bloody salt, to wash off/out later.

Hey I know, it's madness.
Yes, There has to be some controls, to stop mindless behaviour.
However, throwing a blanket over those that do the right thing is an over reaction.

Champin,
Our 4wd Club has an exemption, chainsaws, as we help NPWS maintain several old huts within National Parks, only when we are attending to this task.
Used for clearing tracks, to gain access to these remote places.
Sometimes after storms, trees can be down across tracks.
I haven't looked into,
If you are carrying a chain saw and you need to travel through a National Park, to gain access to a State Forrest, free camp or private property.
I also don't know how they are going to police it, we've been camped in state forest, and have heard a saw operating across the river in a national park.
So I guess some people either don't know the regs or they are just, oh well if I don't get caught,

I often see disgusting things left in our beautiful bush. Broken camp stuff, rubbish of all kinds and the most scary of all, camp fires not extinguished properly. We mostly bring out more rubbish than we take in but it's bloody hard to keep up with the crap left out there. It's no wonder they want to lock the parks up.
In saying that though, Victoria in bordering on bankruptcy so one does wonder if the reasoning behind the closures is more of a fiscal policy than a ecological one.

It's sickening to see the rubbish some leave behind, and camp fires still burning

One thing that does my head in, seeing live trees cut down next to the river bank, what do they think is holding that lovely flat grassed area together, that they love to camp on?
Anyway, yes we pickup what we can.
The broken glass in fires pits.
We usually have to chicken pick the area before we setup, then leave it better condition then what we found. Come back next time(might only be a month), the sh1t left everywhere again.
Makes you wonder what their homes are like.

The continued closure of some of the country’s most iconic natural environments for Indigenous cultural heritage reasons has been branded Australia’s “shame” by radio host Ben Fordham.
Over the weekend, the 2GB presenter rattled off more than half a dozen iconic landmarks that were now “no go zones” after banning or restricting access in recent years.
