As I have been very neglectful of the my vehicles regarding regular maintenance, the winch on the vehicle hasn't turned a rope for a year or two now. Removed it off the bull bar and started dismantling it.
Done my research on YouTube and feeling empowered pulled the control box apart and checked the solenoid. One of leads from the winch obviously got a bit hot and looked a bit burnt.
If I manage to surpass myself and get the thing to work, that is good. If not, no real loss. Bought the vehicle with just about every other accessory coming from ARB someone not noticing switched and fitted a Tigers 11 8000lb winch. The control box was replaced several years ago with a Runva control box.
This will be a learning curve to remove the 8000lb Warn off the old Hilux and if I can get it to work, fit it to my current vehicle.

None in any Bunnings in Brisbane (in H3 at least, plenty of untreated), had to hunt the building suppliers and took a bit to find one.

Ripped up the carpet & tiles and ground the floor, getting ready for timber boards to go down. Wasn't happy to find some rotten timber under where the fish tank was, so had to stitch in a new sheet. (fish tank wont be going back).
100sqm of spotted gum flooring done and dusted... ;D plus a full repaint and all new skirting. A full weekend of putting furniture back ahead of me now (and putting felt on the bottom of everything).

We did similar in the living room earlier in the year but that was only ~20m!
As well as felt, maybe think about patches of the non-slip drawer lining stuff, as our lounge chairs move every time you sit down ::)

But I wont be using the nonslip draw stuff as it's plastic based and over time deteriorates and glues itself to the timber. Research tells me to use a natural rubber based product. I've bought a couple of rolls of stick on rubber tape from Clark Rubber to put under stuff that I don't want to move (lounge chairs, etc). Stuff that does move will be felt, and a large rug under the dining table/chairs and lounge coffee table.
side note- fek me rugs are expensive :'(

remove the overgrown lantana ... RFS (Rural Fire Service) ... I have to the end of the month to burn off what I can ready for next season.
Invite them to come onto your block for a refresher exercise of burning off, back-burning & so on ??? 8)

No link sorry Fizzie, but checking the label to give you the details and bugger me, I've bought the wrong stuff >:( grabbed EVA instead of rubber :-\ looks like I'll be doing another run myself.
Got the study put back together at least. I couldn't find 2 corner desks the right size to fit the way we wanted, so I made my own last week. Pretty happy with the way it turned out.
