Title: When is a problem not a problem?
Post by: corndog on August 09, 2018, 07:06:55 PM
See wee had around 100 youths causing havoc around Melbourne again but how can this be. We don't have any gangs. Their all good law abiding citizens. Their just kids being kids. The police can handle it all.  I don't think their telling me the truth.

You got it all wrong.. Andrews said there are no gang problems.
then backed that fact up in parliament yesterday saying 'my party just spent x 100k setting up some gang taskforce to deal with gang problems'....

yes sir... believe every word politicians tell me.

Good to see police cars getting windows smashed, and not one arrest... Bet if a pack of white kids did that there'd be the full yellow pages treatment.

So, was it 30 to 40, 40 to 50, or around 100? Depends which report you read on the numbers. I reckon Melbourne is just missing the traditional gangs that used to be common down there. Like the Asian Gangs and the Middle Eastern gangs in the 80's and 90's, or even the OMCs that you don't really see much in the paper about anymore (Gee they must have all disappeared). So now, any large group of similar looking people (age, race or dress) has to have the "gang" identity, and the "gang violence" theme promoted, or it won't sell papers.

Bring back the good old days of the Sharpies, the Rockers and Bodgies etc..
