Title: Removing Graffiti of my car

Soooo some f-tard decided to pretty much cover every panel and piece of glass of my Prado last night. It appears to be that marking paint for when your doing construction.

I need a few tips for easy removal. I have tried some acetone which is VERY slowly working. A quick youtube video recommends canubra wax. Any other pieces of advice.

I don't understand why I have been targeted but I'm devastated about it.

Post by: edz on September 19, 2017, 09:18:30 AM: Stuffing Mongrels , For the panels you might be better of using a light cutting compound cream and a soft cheese cloth type of polish cloth by hand .. For the glass Shellite or GP thinners then a good go over with metho and wiped with news paper .[ gets any smears off ] .

could be easy to damage the paintwork permanently with the wrong siht

Post by: tryagain on September 19, 2017, 09:46:05 AM: Try some Aeroguard, I watched someone easily remove some graffiti of a sign with some Aeroguard once, much to my amazement. Watching how easily it worked really made me wonder about what we are spraying on our skin, it didn't damage the sign but is probably worth checking in an inconspicuous spot first, he just sprayed it straight onto the graffiti, left it there for maybe 30sec and the wiped it off with a rag, wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself.

My father in law popped around with some product they used to use on their main roads vehicles and machines when they would get done. Bit of elbow grease and it's all gone. Needs another coat of polish now, but thankfully it's not fluoro pink anymore.

Yes it was. Cops just took a report over the phone and asked me to send them the photos. Not much they could do. No CCTV and I didn't think we had any issues with the neighbours. We have had a complaint about our dog barking sometime ago, but we have been actively working on the problem. I was home all day yesterday and not a peep from him.

Product smelled alot like kero. Probably was Kero, but hey it worked. Hopefully the paint doesn't fall off but it's looking smicko again now.

Surly a professional detailer or any half decent painter can get it looking like new again.

Back to looking great again. I wanted to try myself before forking out for the excess on my policy. A professional detail probably costs less than that.

I was going to suggest insurance, but like you I thought it would cost you more in long run as you'd be classed as a criminal by the insurance company for making a claim on your next renewal

Post by: corndog on September 20, 2017, 07:54:27 PM: When they painted the cars in our street the guy across the road told me to use what I think was Kerosene. It took it off and didn't damage the paint on the car. But you have to catch it soon after being painted.
