Litchfield is worth a look, this time of the year the waterfalls would be pumping. Mindil Beach Sunset Markets - http://www.mindil.com.au/to-do (http://www.mindil.com.au/to-do) only on certain days, lots of hippy s#!t stalls, but a really good selection of food stalls. Grab a feed, sit on the beach for sunset, then stroll around the stalls for a looksee......there's usually some live music around the place after dark (I spent about 2 hours watching George Kamikawa busk one time)

Hard to say what you SHOULD see, as everyone has different tastes, but the above is what we've done in out 2 visits to Darwin (each visit was only for a couple of days). Litchfield is close, and definitely somewhere that you want to go.......... but I recon it's a trip in itself and you want about a week to spend in the area.

Unfortunately, Mindil Beach markets are only on during The Dry (Last Thursday in April until the last Thursday in October), as you said, lots of hippy stuff, but great food.

l lived in Darwin for about 6 month in 1980. l try to get back regularly at lest this will be my 2nd trip not much will have changed . ;D ;D Will be in town for 3 days , will have wheels to get around , then gone . We are looking to have a wip around to do a reckie for a longer trip later . Whats the casino like is it worth a visit ??? :cheers:

If you plan to do the jumping croc thing in the Adelaide River, then go the the mob that run out of the location near Fogg Dam (I think it was called from memory, so turn off the main drag as if heading to the dam), it's near the old Humpty Doo rice fields. These people run smaller boats that get you that little bit closer to the snapping handbags, they even let the kids drive the boat on the run back to base....great family day out if you don't get into the politics of the jumping crocs concept being right or wrong

2nd that...................they are the ones that I linked in the earlier post.
The others run from beside the bridge on the main road and use 2 story boats, with the bottom deck fully enclosed in perspex windows. They also jam about 4 times the number of people.

The Aviation Museum used to be pretty good 👍
