Title: The Spanner Man Sculptures
Post by: edz on January 15, 2017, 10:34:16 PM
A friend just posted this up on Face crap and I thought it may be of interest for people traveling out near the town of Boort  to drop in and have a look .
The Spanner Man
"  This guy has AMAZING talent!! He is all self taught and the most amazing thing is that he is in a wheelchair (contracted polio at 8yrs of age) and uses block and tackles to lift and move the pieces he is working on. The attention to detail blew us away ..... put this on your must see list ".

Some pretty flash looking artwork there. A good use for all the unwanted Whitworth and imperial spanners too.

Yeah just a few spanners lying around. You have to see this stuff to believe it - everything is made from spanners and there are heaps of art pieces on the property. He was working on a flower arrangement for a hospital and one of the bottlebrushes was made from 100 tiny meccano spanners. We went and saw the Brim silos on the same trip and stayed in Warrnambool for the night. Good little weekend trip.
