Title: 2016 BRISBANE 4WD SHOW
Post by: woolgoolgaoffroad on May 23, 2016, 07:26:48 PM
Was thinking of heading into QLD for a week and saw that the 2016 Brisbane 4wd show is on.... Never been to this one....is it a cracker of a show ?
For $18 it's cheaper than the country shows that you can walk around in half a day down here....

After being to the Sydney 4x4 show at Eastern Creek which is good and then going to the Brisbane 4x4 the show is ok but I will say that the venue in Brisbane is crap. I don't know what the caravan show will be like in Brisbane but will go and have a look. After moving from NSW to Brisbane, they have a good footy ground and cricket ground but I do think Brisbane needs a new show venue built to meet the City's growing needs.

if you've only been there since they started redeveloping the RNA grounds then yes it's crap...it was much better 4 or 5 years ago before redeveloping occurred.

Well worth checking out. ...   The number of CT on display is insane....   and almost as many vans....    Many manufacturers run specials and promos....   but the price on all the accessories sellers is a bit lame

Everything there but a very poor venue in my opinion. The layout is all over the shop and can be quiet easy to miss stuff if you don't go in with a plan of attack.  Avoid a weekend visit at all costs.

It's amazing how many things I suddenly 'need' when it's other peoples cash.

No problem. Not my cash so I don't care.  You may have to deal with queenB though.

Is it worth it?

I went to the 4x4, caravan, camping, tinny and tackle show a few years back at the showground, it was massive and a good setup.

Then they had a bit of a bust up and there were 2 shows competing against each other, I went to some 4x4 boating and camping show, the one that they had down at the waterfront at Manly. the 4x4 and camping side was rubbish (about 5 exhibitors) and the boating side was poorly represented unless you had $100K to spare. The sailing club took us out for an hour and the kids got to see me fall in, so it wasn't a total loss.

I suppose I'm comparing it to the show at Maitland NSW, which was always a good way spend a Saturday, I just figured for a major city they could put on a better effort than they do.

Anyway, unfortunately I can't go and mark them on this show as I have to go and park cars at Willowbank for the Winter Nats. Scout fundraiser, of no interest to me in the least.
