Hi Everyone!
Newbie to the forum, been lurking for a few weeks since buying our 06 Jayco Eagle and started down the long, long rabbit hole of mods for it. After reading around a bit, it turns out I should have been here years ago - we sold our 2010 softfloor camper trailer from Vic Getaway Campers to go towards the Eagle.
The softfloor was an absolute labour of love - a lot of time went into tweaking and modding it to make setup easier, it travel better, and generally work better than when it rolled out of the factory. If I'd been here for the past five years, life would have been a lot easier!. Unfortunately a new baby meant I was doing all of the setup by myself, which began to rule out shorter trips - time for an upgrade!
The Eagle's done pretty good already - we're the third owner (second had it for 10 months, realised it was too small for his family), but it's been pretty lovingly maintained, has bagged awnings, bed flies and kitchen awning, pole carrier & bike rack already fitted and ready to go, all lights changed to LEDs, extra 12v sockets installed and even a hitch lock that still has the old padlock attached. Will be looking to make the 'pantry' more useable, and potentially a few other things along the way.
First shakedown trip with the Eagle kicks off tomorrow night for the weekend, so fingers crossed everything goes well!

Shake down was just a quick trip to Paynesville and set up in my sister's backyard so we could meet our new niece.
Eagle went great (though it needs a name), with no issues. We bought some of the 12v fan/lift combos for the bed ends which worked a treat to get some airflow through once sun came up especially. Only real issue was realising the roof hatch lets in a ton of light - something our 6 month old who is still in a portacot was pretty keen on telling us at 6am! Working on a fix for that this weekend.
Next weekend's a long weekend in Vic, so it's three nights down on the Rye foreshore as the first real trip proper trip - without a house 10 steps away!

Love Paynesville.
Did you catch any fish?

No chance unfortunately - arrived 9:30pm Friday after work, left 2pm Sunday, and the rest was pretty much family time. Though when their kid's a bit older (she's only 8 weeks old atm), it'll be longer trips down there with plenty of fishing!
