Title: Apple iPhone/iPad chargers being recalled
Post by: Jasman on January 29, 2016, 10:36:38 PM
Hey,

You've probably heard that Apple has recalled many of the iPhone/iPad Chargers they've sold over the last few years and they are offering to send you out a replacement by logging your details on their site.  I wrote this quick guide for my Mum and Dad and thought someone here might find it handy.

First off, have a read of the article on the apple site to see if you're affected:

http://www.apple.com/au/support/ac-wallplug-adapter/ (http://www.apple.com/au/support/ac-wallplug-adapter/)

If you are affected:

Go to settings>about and locate the serial number and copy it (just touch and hold on the number until "copy" appears).  Then go to this link and paste (touch and hold again) your serial number into the form and complete the request, you'll note you'll need your iTunes username and password to complete the process.

Cheers,

Jason

I threw out one last week as it stopped working. They also want the device serial number (iPhone iPod etc)
Now I need to find 3 iPad, 3 iPhone and 2 iPod numbers

Funny enough one of mine stopped working last week but I hadn't threw it yet and was hoping the recalled part might actually fix it.

Definitely easiest if you submit each request using the device in question because you can copy the serial number.

I lodged my on line request yesterday for two, for an iPad and an iPad mini

Be interesting to see how long they take to show up.

I won't be waiting by the mail box.
