Title: Wiring loom attachment
Post by: edz on January 26, 2016, 08:11:29 AM
Ok learned peoples.
New build camper trailer will see 80% beach use, soooo not wanting to go drilling holes etc can anyone see a problem with the wiring loom being tucked up tightly to the chassis rails / under floor and being held in place with PVC shrink wrap encased button magnets ..
The bloody things are very powerful and near impossible to pry off or move on metal  at the best of times, and would have to be as strong if not stronger than the plastic type retainer clips you get . Not neccesarily cheaper though . Thoughts .

Only one way to find out Edz! Thinking laterally again.

Cheers!

I'd be a little concerned that they might actually come off, with the leverage of the wiring harness. Why not use sealed allow pop rivets, dipped in some sealant before you use them to attach "P" clips?

If you haven't finished the build can you weld some half links of chain and run the wiring through that and then secure with a cable tie.

You can get stainless steel cable ties.  Not cheap, but they won't come off.
