Hi All,
I have a Yakima skybox
https://www.yakima.com/skybox-pro-21 (https://www.yakima.com/skybox-pro-21)
and wondered how it will hold up over periods of severe corrugations ? Has anyone used a similar roof box and has some real world experience on how they might perform? I've used it lots on Moreton Is. And other beach work. Thanks for any help.
Cheers
Shane

I have a Thule box on the roof. No issues so far. Has so far done about 6000k on dirt roads/tracks, including a recent trip to Birdsville (from Melbourne).

Thank you. That is very helpful.

Reckon it wouldnt be the carry pod so much as the roof rack to roof mounts that you would have to be sure of..

Agreed - As with any nuts and bolts you'd check them...
Again, did not have any problems with the pod - nor the roof bars. Attached a picture of my setup...

Had a Thule roof POD -- for many trips, Roper Bar, Rosella Springs, Gibb River Road -- many rough roads, did reinforce and change the mounting system, with some square aluminium tubing..
POD are excellent, no dust inside, unlike people who used standard roof racks with baskets, which they had to tie everything down, with a POD it's just a matter of closing the lid, although we really did fill our's up a bit, which did result in a challenge to close the lid sometimes.

Agree with the other comments. Did three months old Ghan, Finke, Birdsville innamincka, Savanah way etc along some shocking corrogations. Roof box held up well - a little bit of dust but nothing compared to an open roof rack.
