Title: Line an esky with polyurethane
Post by: Joshreid on December 31, 2015, 05:54:06 AM
I'm thinking about lining my standard esky with scrap polyurethane foam sheets. To make it into a bit of a DIY icebox. Wondering if anyone has done something similar - and how that worked out?

I did it many years ago using 1 inch polystyrene with a double thickness at the base. Ice lasted four days in the hottest weather.

Does your standard esky have foam in the walls and inside the lid? if not, get a pressure pack of expanda foam and drill a couple of holes where it won't cause a problem, like in the bottom inline with the walls and either end of the lid and squirt some in there.
